Target audience research

The target audience for our media coursework is going to be mostly males aged from eighteen to fourty year olds, from a variety of race and financial backgrounds, I have come to this decision after looking at various other films core target audiences.

The films that I looked at to help me deliberate my decision on the target audience on my media coursework,  were ones which we had taken great inspiration from such as Pulp fiction and Reservoir dogs both directed by Quentin Tarentino. I found that these two films were primarily sucessful with the age group of males of eighteen to thirty years of age.

I have made a survey to help me research my target audience, here below is a graph of the results I recorded.

For my results I asked 15 of each of these categories about whether they would be interested in our media project, if they showed interested in our project, I would record it in a tally chart.

I also asked some opinions of my friends and colleagues:

Kieran, 17 " I am a fan of Pulp fiction and action movies, so I think I would enjoy this also."

Kathleen, 50 " Its not my sort of thing, I do not like seeing violence as it creeps me out!"

Jack, 18 " Yeah, I would definitely like to see a film like this, love to watch thrillers."

Nedim, 17 "It seems interesting, might be worth a viewing"
