How did we attract/address our audience?
We have annotated our final film on youtube so that it answers question 5.
You must watch the film on youtube to receive the annotations.
After various research into our influences such as Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs, I have made the decision that we should set our target audience as males aged 18-40, who are interested in action packed crime thrillers. I believe that film could also prove successful with females of the same age group too.
We used our characters too attract our target audience, as we feel by choosing characters who are supposed to be 30-40 years of age ( we had trouble casting characters actually of this age group. ) we are reaching out to our target audience, as they will be able to relate to the characters. We also made one of our characters more aggressive, as we felt that by doing this it may relate to our audience who may either be similar or idolize this kind of character. I think another way we could attract our target audience is by perhaps for the actual movie, casting actors that have a "history" in these sorts of films, such as Bruce Willis or Jason Statham. By doing this it will perhaps attract an people who are familiar or fans of these actors past films.
Our inclusion of a bank robbery scene I feel is crucial to making the film a hit with the target audience, if you look at other films in the genre of our film, it seems to be a recurring theme to have some sort of robbery or crime. I feel this is important as it sets up the story and provides action, which I feel our target audience are going to be fans of.
